Why Convert PDF to PNG?

PNG is the gold standard for lossless image quality. Converting PDF pages to PNG preserves every detail — text stays sharp, graphics remain crisp, and transparency is maintained. This makes PNG ideal for presentations, documentation screenshots, web content, and social media.

Unlike JPEG, PNG uses lossless compression, meaning no quality is lost during conversion. This is especially important for documents with fine text, charts, or diagrams where compression artifacts would be visible.

Our converter uses Mozilla's pdf.js to render each page at up to 4x native resolution, giving you print-quality PNG images from any PDF document. All processing happens locally in your browser — your sensitive documents are never uploaded anywhere.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it safe to convert my PDF to PNG here?

Yes. All processing happens entirely in your browser using pdf.js. Your files are never uploaded to any server — they stay on your device from start to finish.

What is the quality of the output PNG images?

Our tool renders each PDF page at a configurable scale (1x to 4x). At 2x (the default), you get crisp, high-resolution images suitable for presentations and web use. Use 4x for print-quality output.

Can I convert a multi-page PDF?

Absolutely. Every page in your PDF is converted to a separate PNG image. You can download them all as a single ZIP file or pick individual pages.

Can I convert a password-protected PDF?

No. For security reasons, encrypted or password-protected PDFs cannot be processed. Remove the password protection first using our Remove Password tool.

Is there a file size or page limit?

Since everything runs in your browser, there are no artificial limits. The tool can handle large PDFs — the only constraint is your device's available memory.

Can I convert multiple PDFs at once?

Yes. Drag and drop multiple PDF files and they will all be converted in a single batch. Pages from each file are clearly labeled with the source filename.
